The Shvitz 07:00

about

Released on CD by Siltbreeze in 1999, this was my third solo guitar album, after Sink the Aging Process (1994) and The Evan Nando of Noise (1997). I recorded the whole thing myself at home, using a multi-track cassette recorder (those were popular back in the heyday of lo-fi). The title track is a suite in 5 sections of different permutations of the same six pitches, realized using different extended techniques on electric guitar and for one section, a toy chord organ I'd bought on tour in Twin Falls, Idaho. "All Blues" gets its title from the MXR Blue Box octave divider/fuzz I used on it.

This version includes a bonus track, "The Shvitz," recorded at the same sessions and previously released on a CD that came with issue #3 of Halana magazine in 1998.
